So I was watching Pumpkinhead yesterday and thinking that the movie is a great example of WRATH. Then I started wondering what other movies are good representations of the seven deadly sins. Any ideas? Besides “Seven”. I was also thinking People Under the Stairs was a good one for GREED.
Elastic Material deforms under stress but returns to its original size and shape when the stress is released. There is no permanent deformation. Some elastic strain, like in a rubber band, can be large, but in rocks it is usually small enough to be considered infinitesimal.
Brittle Material deforms by fracturing. Glass is brittle. Rocks are typically brittle at low temperatures and pressures.
Ductile Material deforms without breaking. Metals are ductile. Many materials show both types of behavior. They may deform in a ductile manner if deformed slowly, but fracture if deformed too quickly or too much. Rocks are typically ductile at high temperatures or pressures.
Viscous Materials that deform steadily under stress. Purely viscous materials like liquids deform under even the smallest stress. Rocks may behave like viscous materials under high temperature and pressure. Plastic Material does not flow until a threshhold stress has been exceeded.
Viscoelastic Combines elastic and viscous behavior. Models of glacio-isostasy frequently assume a viscoelastic earth: the crust flexes elastically and the underlying mantle flows viscously.
Hearing eating/chewing/smacking sounds particularly if they are kind of quiet and subtle make me want to stomp in somebodies head. Its like nails on a chalkboard to me. Its so bad it makes me physically uncomfortable. Anybody else like that?
sometimes I forget to physically touch and feel things in everyday life. Its a sense I really neglect but it can be satisfying to feel things. I’m touching a piece of plastic from an ink cartridge that feels pretty good.
just got the diving bell in assassins creed and deep sea swimming is the most terrifying thing I’ve ever experienced in a game. They use everything in the book to get you (the sea book). I’ve only explored 2 sites and there were jellyfish, sea urchins, sharks (the biggest assholes), eels, and humpback whales moaning and swimming high above you as a distraction so you look up and then a great white shark is suddenly gnashing at your face. I also saw a gigantic tentacle in a sunken ship but it went away when I got close.
